Wow, how could you seriously publish such an incriminating article against the Hillsong Church, you are if not more guilty of pointing accusations at their members. This article is a one sided view of your over analytical perception of their activities. You claim to be scientific, in your pursuit for knowledge and understanding. But the fact is, that you are making wild claims and not knowing the facts. Your article is no more relevant than your claim that these people are cultist. If you really want to know, use the scientific method to further analyse the situation. Your 3rd paragraph down „The Hillsong Church Cult has its own Steve Jobs“ is a ridiculous claim. as you, your self are trying to brainwash people with this article.
So, please i ask that you NOT judge these people or Christians so harshly without trying and honest pursuit of the truth. Please try again and have an open heart about it. God does exist, he does answer and he does love you.

I’m a regural member of this church.

It’s changed my life.

The people who have slandered this church, especially based on ome visit, are narrow minded and judgemental. It’s the cruelty in your heart that makes you feel this way.

I’m not going to go all jesus on you. I’m going to be real and tell you what I feel.

I think it’s ridiculous that you would publicly put down something you have no clue about the inner workings of.

This church changes peoples lives. It gets people involved in community and it give’s them hope.

If you missed that opportunity, I’m truly sorry for that. But please dont put other people off it and prevent them from enriching their lives. It only makes you a cyber bully!

The catholic women who first commented on this post, is not a Christian. Her points are completely invalid. She doesn’t understand the teaching of jesus and is not open to a modern style approach. Which is fine. That’s why their are different types of churches. If you are not a Christian it will take time to understand how the church works. Trust me, I thought it was a little weird at first too. Openess is required.

Please be aware that there are many so called Christians who give other Christians a bad name. One does not label yourself as a Christian, the only thing that defines you as a Christian is the goodness in your heart.

Only follow Christians who work to the good of helping others.

HILLSONG is 100% committed to helping others.

BTW – I love the darkness and strobe lights (it’s not only the good teaching & friends) but it’s the coolness factor. If you want a place to chill out, not be all stiff and avoid all the pretend Christians come to hillsong. We go to night clubs we do things that other churches dont allow… because we believe in living human life. Hillsong is not a cult, it’s a community :)

It’s a community that I choose to belong to and am proud of.

Im not surprised by some comments, i often ask my self this question to whom do you become a christian for, well the answer is one of these.
1. for the peers i.e peer pressure
2. because the church is hip and young
3. because I need help in my life
4. because i love the worship music etc

well there are loads more i can add….no what is missing ???
JESUS CHRIST…
if you become a christian and dont have a relationship with your maker then it is and will be short lived. if you are with christ then you won’t worry about a church , you won’t need discipling either as God will lead you , you will be free to go anywhere without guilt and most of all you will be secure in his Love.

Searching for the meaning of life is difficult.

No is very simple, but hard to hear: there is none. Life and his civilization isn't as important as we think to know. As a child I was also raised in an evangelical free church. But I have solved it myself as an adult without any problems and now I'm convinced atheist. If you get told by astronomers how the universe was created, with the many stages of processes, then it is to believe blasphemy for me any higher being would have created just in 7 days.

... with a few in my life approaching 40 and becoming barren, angry, lonely and everyone left wondering why their life’s dreams, goals and healings (requiring more than placaebo effect of prayer) never magically happened.

Searching for the meaning of life is difficult. Using the church or spiritual sources like cults for this task sounds like the worst idea to me. For me personally my current state of mind regarding this matter is that there is simply no external superior meaning of life outside of your own being. Being is life and that's all. At least to me.
